The Farrels were facing foreclosure. They had owned their nine-year-old home in Perkiomenville since it was built, but were now, in over their heads, they were looking at a pending sheriff’s sale. They contacted Piedmont through our website after hearing about us on the radio.
The two-story colonial on a one-acre lot required a general cosmetic upgrade, including updating bathrooms, new kitchen appliances, new flooring and paint throughout, new light fixtures and other minor improvements. Some light landscaping was required, along with improvements to open up the wooded, overgrown setting. Overall, the house was structurally sound.
Piedmont’s purchase offer was adequate to pay off the existing debt and provide the Farrels with enough money to move and re-establish themselves in a rental property, which was just what they needed to get back on their feet. The Farrels were relieved to be able to start over with no debt following them (and no long-term credit problems), and grateful that Piedmont was able to settle quickly before the foreclosure occurred.
